imembr:

The domain name to your favorite 90’s social networking website has expired. I will not be renewing it. So sad. So sad. Just couldn’t compete with all that Web 2.0.

Looks like this website will have to go into the history books. Some say that it’s popularity is what scared Google into creating Google+. Others note how Facebook was so defeated, it attempted to double it’s worth by adding a second news feed, to the news feed. And as for MySpace being threatened by iMembr? Well let’s just say, the graphs don’t lie:

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that direct correlation. And as science proves, correlation always means causation.

So, perhaps someday, another website will carry iMembr’s torch on and attempt to bring back the splash page on their own, to stretch images beyond their actual dimensions, to fight against the deprecation of the html <blink> code, to make scrolling text the norm! Maybe someday.

In the meantime iMembr will have to live on in your hearts, and here:http://codysherman.com/imembr

The dream is gone :(

If a site like iMembr can’t thrive, then there is no hope for anyone in this economy.
